The Role

As Workshop Manager, youll take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service depot. Youll ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards while leading and developing a skilled team of technicians and service staff.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Managing workshop operations and ensuring compliance with company procedures and health & safety standards.
Providing technical support to engineers and customers.
Overseeing job scheduling, quality control, and completion of all service documentation.
Monitoring parts stock levels, returns, and logistics.
Driving continuous improvement in efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Controlling costs and ensuring profitability across all jobs.
Developing your team through training, mentoring, and regular performance reviews.

About You

Youll be an effective people manager with a strong technical background in a workshop or service environment. You know how to motivate teams, build customer relationships, and deliver outstanding service.

Essential skills and experience:

Proven experience managing a team within a technical or service-based environment.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Commercial awareness and the ability to manage budgets effectively.
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
IT literacy and familiarity with workshop management systems.
Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

Experience in municipal, automotive, or heavy equipment industries.
Formal leadership or management training.
